Activate Split Tunneling in FireSideVPN Android App
The Split Tunnelling feature allows you to browse websites and use services securely, even in countries with strict internet censorship or government surveillance. When your VPN is connected, all DNS queries, including those from applications set to use the VPN, are consistently routed through the VPN network to prevent any potential DNS leaks. Here’s how to activate Split Tunnelling.
This feature ensures that you can still access your local network and connected devices without any problems. You don’t need to worry about anything else while using this feature.
How to activate split tunneling? Follow the instructions below:
- Tap the Hamburger icon (≡) from the top left corner.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Advance.
- In the advanced settings tab, you can see the Split Tunnelling option.
- Tap split tunneling. By default, split tunneling is set to all apps that will use VPN.
- Select Allow only selected apps to use VPN (if you would like to run specific apps via VPN IP and the rest of the apps via your ISP IP).
- If you wish to exclude specific apps from using the VPN IP, select “Do not allow selected apps to use VPN” in the Split Tunneling settings. This configuration ensures that the chosen apps will not route their traffic through the VPN, providing you with flexibility and control over your VPN usage.
